I had the opportunity to try out the new Knuckle Lights colors product and I’m here to give you an honest review of what I thought. I chose the pink color because, let’s face it, I’m obsessed with pink and these did not disappoint! The pink is pretty, bright and fun, plus it matches most of my existing pink running gear. They also come in traditional black or a fun, bright blue. Below is a picture of the package it comes in; I love their motto of “See and Be Seen” – always important for runners!
Upon arrival, I noticed the lights came equipped with a set of batteries; that is just great marketing and good business right there. They magnetically stick together when you are not using them so you can’t lose one without the other, and they are powered with a perfectly placed button on the top of each unit that can be reached with your thumb.
Some of the other specs for this product include:
- 2 LIGHTS PER SET — The units connect together magnetically. The soft silicone straps can be adjusted to fit any size hand and even over gloves.
- 120 TOTAL LUMENS — The super bright lights provide a wide flood beam, providing a steady, even light in front of you that does not bounce around, even with your arms moving.
- BATTERIES INCLUDED — Each Unit Operates on 1 X AA Battery.
- WATERPROOF — Units can be used in any type of weather.
- Price point: $39.99 and ALWAYS free standard shipping for US orders
These lights fit perfectly in your hand and go across your knuckles.I typically have my phone in one hand and my dog’s leash in the other hand when I run so I prepared in advance by putting my phone in an armband and I used my dog’s jogging leash which goes around my waist to allow my hands to be free for this product. The straps are lightweight and adjustable to fit any size hands, and they are made of a soft, sweat resistant plastic feeling material. The lights have 3 settings; bright, low and flashing; and it is easy to switch between these settings while they are on yours hands.
The only problem for me is that I cannot hold my phone in my hand while I wear these. I improvised and tried wearing just one of the lights one night and it worked pretty well. It obviously did not project a large, lighted path, but it was much better than nothing and more comfortable than wearing my running headlamp.
My next test for this product is taking it on the trails at night. I think it would be interesting to see how the light does with uneven terrain, more bouncing and smaller pathways. Overall, I give this product 4 out of 5 stars; it is creative, useful and easy to use!
